"Love, in all forms" Women's History Month Exhibition

Wistariahurst Museum is celebrating the Third Annual Women’s History Month juried art showcase. This year, the theme is Love, in all forms. An opening reception will be held on March 13, 2025. “Love, in all forms” is an array of artwork of varying mediums that analyzes how love impacts our lives. The exhibition features the work of artists who identify as women and non-binary. These artists' work reflects different experiences and concepts revolving around love, and what love means to them. Love can be painful, a process, joyful, romantic, platonic, a feeling, an object, a memory; love is beautiful in all its forms.

Artists featured in this exhibit include Mariana Cicerchia, Katherine McClelland, Isabella Livoti, Shelsy Rodriguez and Dawn Allen. There are also several other local artists featured in this year’s exhibition alongside our featured artists.

The opening reception of “Love, in all forms” will be held Thursday, March 13, from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Wistariahurst is an artist-friendly space that encourages creativity and supports the growth of this region’s artists. This event is free and open to the public. Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt at Wistariahurst Museum

Wistariahurst Museum is egg-static to bring back our Sensory-Friendly Egg Hunt for a second year! This festive egg hunt focuses on gentle exploration and enjoyment. Designed for families with sensory sensitivities, this egg-ceptional event is tailored so every bunny feels comfortable and welcome. This year’s egg hunt will take place indoors throughout the halls of Wistariahurst. Weather permitting, outdoor games and activities will add some egg-stra fun to the event. Each child can gather six eggs and choose prizes ranging from candy to fidget toys. Hop to it and register for one of the available time slots.

“Love, in all forms” Women’s History Month Exhibition: Opening Reception

"Love, in all forms" Women's History Month Exhibition

Opening reception: March 13, 4:30-6:30pm

On view through April 15th Mondays (10am-2pm) and Tuesdays (4:30-6:30pm)

Wistariahurst Museum is celebrating the Third Annual Women’s History Month juried art showcase. This year, the theme is Love, in all forms. An opening reception will be held on March 13, 2025. “Love, in all forms” is an array of artwork of varying mediums that analyzes how love impacts our lives. The exhibition features the work of artists who identify as women and non-binary. These artists' work reflects different experiences and concepts revolving around love, and what love means to them. Love can be painful, a process, joyful, romantic, platonic, a feeling, an object, a memory; love is beautiful in all its forms.

Artists featured in this exhibit include Mariana Cicerchia, Katherine McClelland, Isabella Livoti, Shelsy Rodriguez and Dawn Allen. There are also several other local artists featured in this year’s exhibition alongside our featured artists.

The opening reception of “Love, in all forms” will be held Thursday, March 13, from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Wistariahurst is an artist-friendly space that encourages creativity and supports the growth of this region’s artists. This event is free and open to the public. We hope that you stop by and explore “Love, in all forms!”\

El Museo Wistariahurst celebra la tercera exposición anual con jurado del Mes de la Historia de la Mujer. Este año, el tema es el amor en todas sus formas. La recepción inaugural tendrá lugar el 13 de marzo de 2025. «El amor, en todas sus formas» es un conjunto de obras de arte de diversos medios que analiza cómo el amor influye en nuestras vidas. La exposición presenta obras de artistas que se identifican como mujeres y no binarios. Las obras de estas artistas reflejan diferentes experiencias y conceptos en torno al amor y lo que éste significa para ellas. El amor puede ser doloroso, un proceso, alegre, romántico, platónico, un sentimiento, un objeto, un recuerdo; el amor es bello en todas sus formas.

Entre los artistas que participan en esta exposición figuran Mariana Cicerchia, Katherine McClelland, Isabella Livoti, Shelsy Rodriguez y Dawn Allen. En la exposición de este año también participan otros artistas locales.

La recepción inaugural de «Amor, en todas las formas» tendrá lugar el jueves 13 de marzo, de 16.30 a 18.30 horas. On June 19th, join Wistariahurst Museum and Genuine Culture in the gardens as they host their second annual Juneteenth event, Celebrate Juneteeth at Wisty Wednesdays!

It's time to commemorate freedom and embrace our country's second independence day in the most joyful way possible. Enjoy competing in fun lawn games with friends in the historic gardens that are brought to life by the vibrant plants and foliage. Brace yourself for stunning face painting and dive into hands-on art projects that unleash your creativity. But that's not all – be part of history by sharing your story through the oral history activities, capturing the voices and experiences of the community.

Come together to celebrate the vibrant tapestry of Black history, life, and culture that has shaped Holyoke. Join neighbors, families, friends, and local community members to share some fun and make amazing memories that will last for years to come.

DJ Pzo Pete will be on-site to provide the tunes to this amazing event that will get you dancing. When you finally work up an appetite after all of this fun and games, they will have two local food trucks to satisfy your cravings. Purchase food from Souper Sweet Sandwich Shop, a Black-owned business specializing in delicious signature sandwiches, soups, and salads that will make your taste buds sing. Mis Frituras will also be on-site, ready to serve you their delicious empanadillas, pollo frito, fresh juices, and so much more.

Juneteenth serves as a poignant reminder of the remarkable resilience of Black lives, symbolizing the challenges and victories of formerly enslaved individuals striving for unity, education, and political engagement during the Reconstruction period. So mark your calendars and bring your friends and family to Wistariahurst Museum on June 19th, 2024. It's going to be a day filled with joy, laughter and a whole lot of celebration. Stop by the gardens of Wistariahurst Museum on June 15th from 10am-12pm for their On-Site Plant Sale. Choose from a variety of plants and flowers as you stroll through the historic gardens. The plants are perfectly adapted to the local unique climate and soil, making them ideal for your garden.

The on-site plant sales are a great opportunity to chat with our volunteer gardeners and get advice on your purchases! Every plant that you purchase supports the museum and their amazing team of volunteer gardeners, which means your purchase goes right back into the Holyoke community. Come and explore the beautiful garden and take home a piece of Wistariahurst's history while enhancing your own garden's beauty and health.

Holyoke Arts League Annual Spring Exhibition

During the month of May, the Wistariahurst Museum at 238 Cabot St. in Holyoke will host an exhibition of artwork by members of the Holyoke Arts League (HAL), founded in 1923 and celebrating its 101st year in Holyoke. The League holds artist demonstrations and weekly adult figure drawing sessions.

You are cordially invited to join them at their opening reception on Saturday, May 4th, from 2-4pm. This event is complimentary and welcomes all.

Throughout May, the exhibition will be accessible during the museum's usual operating hours on Mondays (10am-2pm) and Tuesdays (4:30pm-6:30pm) until May 28th. The juried exhibition will showcase diverse entries such as oil and pastel, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, gouache, non-oil wet media, graphite, charcoal, printmaking, graphic media, sculpture, and ceramics.
